NBHS, Inc. Summer Board of Directors Meeting & Cook-out-
Date: August 21st 2011 - Time: 10:00am to whenever
To be held at the Rakestraw House at the Natural Bridge Battlefield Historical State Park. A brief meeting of the Board of Directors will begin at 10:00 A.M. with lunch to follow. The Board will review the status of on-going. Members are welcome to attend and provide input to the Board. Following the meeting we will cook hamburgers and enjoy FELLOWSHIP.
147th Anniversary Battle of Marianna Reenactment and North Florida Raids Reenactment.
Dates: September 23, 24, 25, 2011
We will go Yankee this battle in support of the groups that support Natural Bridge. This is close enough to not have to camp if it’s too hot. The Battle of Marianna and Marianna Day Festival are to be held on the original battlefield. The North Florida Raids Reenactments are at Citizens Park on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. School Day will be on the 23rd at Citizens Lodge Park. The 97th Regimental String Band will provide music at school day, before battles and at the military ball. Fort Clinch Garison - 150th Confederate Withdrawal

I believe that we are hosting this year. We are early war Confederate all weekend.
Raid On The Suwannee River.
Dates: November 18, 19, 20, 2011.
Live Oak, Florida. Located at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park. The last two years have had sparse participation from the Leon Rifles. I hope we can have a great showing. Directions: From I-10, take exit #283 and go north on US 129 for 4.5 miles. From I-75, take exit #451 and go south for 4.5 miles. Look for the signs - "Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park". The park is located between I-10 and I-75. The park's address is 3076 95th Drive, Live Oak, Florida 32060.
Leon Rifles Annual Christmas Party at the Rakestraw House on the Natural Bridge Battlefield
Date: December 3rd 2011 5pm
The Leon Rifles will buy the main course and non-alcoholic beverages. We are asking for members to bring side dishes and /or deserts. The dress is modern casual. BYOB. We will have a fire-pit. Very expensive Christmas gifts will be given out. The Jerky Boys are put on notice to not upset or embarrass any of the officers
Brooksville Raid - Brooksville, Florida.
Dates: January 20, 21, 22, 2012
Two battles (2:30 PM); one Sat. one Sun. We will go Yankee on Saturday and Confederate on Sunday. Ladies tea will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday (the women put a lot into this tea and I have been told it is one of the best anywhere), Blue/Gray Ball Sat night at 8:00 PM. A $5.00 reenactor fee will be collected at the registration desk (13 years and under free). Re-enactors will receive a ticket for a $100.00 gift certificate (five to be given away) to be used at any of the Sutlers during the event. The winners will be announced at the Blue/Gray ball Saturday evening. Hot showers will be available Friday evening through Sunday, for a nominal fee. The Raid is held at the Sand Hill Boy Scout Camp on US Hwy 50. The battle is 10 miles West of Brooksville. The entrance is on Hwy 50. Take Hwy. 50 West. The Battle of Olustee Re-enactment
Dates: February 17, 18, 19, 2012.
The reenactment takes place on the actual site where the Battle of Olustee (Ocean Pond) was fought. We will go Yankee on Saturday and Confederate on Sunday. The Olustee Battle Festival Parade will begin at 10:30 AM. Reenactors are encouraged to participate. Buses will transport re-enactors to and from the parade site and will be served breakfast. No pets. Due to concerns for public safety, no fur bearing animals such as cats and dogs will be allowed during the reenactment activities. Get there early. The website is at http://battleofolustee.org/. The battlefield is located just fifteen miles east of Lake City on Hwy. 90 from I-75 and 50 miles west of Jacksonville. Take I-75 to Hwy. 90 exit. Go east on Hwy. 90.
The Battle of Natural Bridge.
Dates: March 2, 3, 4, 2012.
We are Confederate all weekend and will fight at least one battle on the new battlefield. We will participate in the Friday School Day from 8 AM to 12 PM. On Saturday we will do hourly shows for the public including a formal midmorning Ladies Tea will be held on Saturday. A full military skirmish will be conducted on Saturday afternoon. As usual, there will be a Kayleigh Saturday night for the enjoyment of all. On Sunday, camps will be open to the public at 9:00 AM and colors will be a formal affair. At approximately 1:00 PM, opening ceremonies will honor the combatants of the Battle of Natural Bridge which will immediately be followed by the Battle of Natural Bridge reenactment.
Battle of Shiloh - 150th Anniversary event.
